Client Requirements:

Broomfield Hospital required moves to support the planned centralisation of services, with St John’s Hospital and C&E centre moving onto the Broomfield Hospital site.

Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust, were looking for a relocation contractor who could provide high quality and flexible solutions to meet their requirements backed up by comprehensive services managed at all stages.

The move would include the relocation of the accident and emergency department, medical wards, the emergency medicine and surgery operation, maternity services, acute services, paediatric services and specialist medical services, to the new hospital or onto the retained Broomfield Estate.

Project Solution:

Premier Moves were selected for this project based on achieving the highest overall score in a tender process based on a set criteria and evaluation. The client had a very small team and therefore required flexible project management from Premier, for this project we took an “all hands on deck” approach.

Premier Moves produced a full schedule for all works for this project these were paramount given the critical nature of the services provided by the hospital.

Our Project Management Team set up an effective communication process to ensure that the Project Team and staff were fully informed of activities, dates and respective works. Communications were via regular email bulletins, intranet, pre-departure meetings and finally move instructions, detailing the dos and don’ts for their individual moves.

Client Feedback

Premier Moves delivered each move on time and were extremely attentive to the departments that moved. There were no items damaged during the move and all equipment arrived safely and was installed ready for occupation. At the same time as the main migration, parallel works were taking place with the cleaning support teams and the placement of new furniture.

Other Services Provided

Premier Systems IT delivered the disconnection, clean and reconnection of all desktop IT Equipment. Premier also delivered support cleaning services and reuse and auction of surplus furniture.
