Client Requirements:

News International required the relocation of over 2,800 staff and associated files and IT equipment from two sites, Wapping Main and Pennington Street, to newly fitted-out facilities at St Thomas More Square. This project required the environmental clearance of all News International offices buildings covering all the offices of each of the key publications in the group.

Project Solution:

The Premier Group provided a comprehensive service with the Premier Moves, Systems and Sustain teams working together to provide a complete solution for this client. Premier Moves worked closely with the News International move management team including BGM group and PTS, to help achieve the project objectives, Premier Moves ensured that each aspect of the project delivery timetable was met.

Premier Systems IT provided a comprehensive programme of installation and roll-out desk top and IT relocation services.

Premier Sustain provided a reuse and recycling solution for the redundant furniture which saw significant volumes of furniture being sold for reuse. The environmentally sound approach resulted in substantial financial savings for the client.

Project Feedback

Timing was absolutely critical for this project. Each newspaper title in the News International Group has key production deadlines and with 24 hour media operations, meticulous planning and military-precision delivery of these moves were key. A combination of Premier Move’s extensive experience and close working within the strong move management team meant that all moves were carried out successfully. This strong working relationship has continued to develop and Premier Moves is now supporting moves and changes at the new News International facility.

From the clearance element of this project nearly 2,000 items were reused and 205 tonne of material were recycled saving 380 tonnes of C0 2(e).
